Microsoft has released a fix for the recent problems affecting Microsoft Access Versions 2607 and 2608. Users had been reporting several nasty issues, including fonts displaying incorrectly, reports and PDF exports appearing at roughly one-quarter of their normal size, and Access crashing under certain circumstances.

The fix is now available in the Current Channel. Access MVP Karl Donaubauer reported the fix on September 2, and at least one affected user has confirmed that the problems were resolved after updating to Version 2608 Build 20326.20132. According to Donaubauer, the fixes are scheduled to reach the Monthly Enterprise Channel for Versions 2607 and 2608 with the September 8 update.

If you've been holding back an Office update because of these problems, this is one you'll want to keep an eye on. As always, I'd still recommend testing any new Office build with your important Access databases before rolling it out everywhere.
