You can do that with Conditional Formatting. Set the condition to check the value of your Yes/No field or checkbox, and then apply whatever formatting you want when it is True.

For example, if the checkbox is named Active, set the conditional formatting rule expression to:

[Active]=True

Just remember that a checkbox itself is a control. If you're formatting another control on the form, reference the checkbox control's name. If you're formatting a control in a continuous form, Conditional Formatting is exactly the right tool because it applies separately to each record.

Not sure if you've seen this, probably you have, but I've just come across an anomaly in the conditional formatting of fields.
I have a continuous form with CmdNext, CmdPrevious navigation buttons. A specific field is highlighted when you get to it.
Even if you disable and lock the field, the conditional formatting will override that.
I noticed it when I saw the cursor flashing in it.
Worth pointing out to those who may be unaware that you have to go back into the conditional formatting and to the right of font colour selection dropdown in a miniscule thing that looks like a command button, you have to click it to disable the text field.

I would also make sure to put the brackets.... sometimes the Conditional Formatting will assume this is a string and put quotes around it.
