An Access Error 2004 fix is expected in the October 6 Current Channel update, according to Microsoft Access MVP Karl Donaubauer. In an October 5 public Microsoft Community reply, he says the fix will be included in that update and identifies Build 16.0.20430.20144 as the expected build.

The problem can prevent reports from opening in Print Preview and display an insufficient-memory error in Access Version 2609. The thread includes reports from customers using production Current Channel Build 20430.20092. Affected users have reported workarounds such as opening a dummy report first or disabling the custom form and report icon, but these are user reports rather than a confirmed universal solution.

This is an announcement of expected delivery. As of October 5, Microsoft's published update history still lists September 30 Build 20430.20118 as the latest Current Channel release, so the new fix is not yet confirmed as available.
