MCP-Access 0.7.64, released October 8, fixes a broken form-and-report editing workflow in the third-party, open-source tool that connects AI assistants to Microsoft Access. Its access_get_code export could not be imported back through access_set_code because binary data was restored in the wrong position.

The project changelog says the fix restores each binary block to its original object and location, preserving form, section and control GUIDs. The previous failure restored a backup but left error-log files. The developer reports successful round-trip tests on both forms and reports in Access for Microsoft 365.

The update also adds direct access to section properties, such as background color and height. One limitation remains: importing edited form text causes Access to discard its Name AutoCorrect tracking data. These are MCP-Access changes, rather than a Microsoft Office patch. The October 8 package release is available on PyPI and remains classified as beta.
