Microsoft has announced a planned retirement date for Access's Internet Explorer-based Web Browser Control: May 18, 2027, with version 2705. Access LTSC 2024 has a separate target of May 11 or June 8, 2027. This is an upcoming change, not a removal that has already happened.

When the change reaches an affected Access version, legacy controls will stop displaying web content. Microsoft plans an Access Options setting that can load them as Edge Browser Controls, but it will not be enabled by default.

Developers should identify affected forms and subforms, back up their databases, and test migration to the Edge Browser Control. Converting the control alone may not be enough: VBA that uses the old Object property or MSHTML object model needs rewriting. Forms already using Edge do not need this conversion.
