An affected Access user has reported successful results after the update Access MVP Karl Donaubauer recommended for a Version 2610 crash problem. In a November 5 follow-up, the user says a number of customers updated and are no longer experiencing out-of-memory errors or crashes.

Donaubauer had identified Version 2610, Build 16.0.20527.20150 as the expected fix. Microsoft lists that build as released November 4, although its release notes describe only general functionality and performance fixes. The successful result is feedback from the affected user; Microsoft's notes do not name this particular issue.

If you were affected, test the same operations after updating before removing workarounds or rolling the change out more widely. Other crash causes may need separate investigation. See the public follow-up and build recommendation and Microsoft's Current Channel release notes.
