criteria in calculated yes no field

Hello Mr. Rost,
I m trying to design a database for the food pantry where I do voluntary work. Perhaps that sounds crazy since there are good databases on the market, but I design in our local language, so that the local people can use the database without having to learn English first.
We record the people who inscribe, the date they inscribe and the number of months that they receive a food basket. I then let the database calculate the last date the person may receive a food basket, and then, with an IIf statement I let the database say active or not active.
No I want to see only the active people and tried, in the query, in criteria, to write yes or no. It doesn t work. I figure that this is not possible without code.
I couldn t figure out how to make this work. Is there any way of doing this? I would think you cover this problem in your course but perhaps I didn t get that far as yet, but perhaps you could point me out to those lessons in order to get ahead with this database.
Thanks in advance and really enjoy the course.

Edward Sedney

Reply from Richard Rost:

This is really impossible to troubleshoot without seeing how you've got your database set up. If you can't edit your query, it's probably because the query is too complex. This happens when you start adding too much stuff to it: crazy functions, extra joined tables, etc. Try to simplify things, and break complex queries down into simpler ones. If you want to send us your database for my team to look at, you can submit it via the TechHelp page.
