Dear Richard,
I am interested in a global variable so that I do not need to have a form open to refer to a particular record when opening a report based on that record, and have come across TempVars.
It appears it can be used in VBA as well as macros and I believe a lesson covering its use would be of considerable value.

TempVars are cool. I'll try to include them in an upcoming lesson when we get into VBA programming (Developer series). The main benefit of TempVars is that they work easily between macros and modules, whereas traditional global variables only work in VBA code. For my projects, I generally stick to just VBA code, so it hasn't been an issue for me, but with Microsoft pushing macros for more things lately, I'll be sure to cover them more in future classes.
