Hi,

I have a question regarding grouping records in a query. Particularly, text - not numeric values. It is worth noting that I set up many fields in my respective table using the Lookup & Relationship function.

I set up a custom primary key that is text-based. I am calling upon records within this table that utilizes the look-up function. So my records in the Main table are condensed to combo boxes that call upon other tables.

When I query these records using, say:

LIKE "*" & forms![SearchF]![InputTXT] & "*"

for all the multi-valued fields that I am calling. You explained this method in another video which is why I used it :P

It works. But, instead of "grouped" records like are in my Main table, I get back every possible combination of these groups. This means I get back multiple records with the same primary key, but with different variations. Hopefully you can see why this would cause a problem for Report reasons.

I would like to GROUP all the information for each unique primary key. So, I have 1 primary key, but 're-group' all the information I was looking for as it is displayed originally within my Main table.
