Secret Keyboard Shortcut to Open Secret Interface
Kathleen

Hi,
I am hoping you can help me.  I have a database that stores shift reports.  Staff and supervisors alike are able to enter in shift reports.  At this time, I have a staff interface that is a form with a button that opens a blank data entry form, and a separate accde for supervisor interface that in addition to entering shift reports, they enter sick calls and other data not meant for staff to see - but all is saved in my one database.  I created this with practically no experience.  Now, I need to condense the interfaces into one accde.  My predecessor's version would open with the staff interface and would open the supervisor interface with a keyboard shortcut.  Alt+s, I think it was.  Do you know how to do this?  I've googled and tried other forums to no avail.  I appreciate any patient (non-huffy) help I can get.  Sincerely, Kathleen :)

I'd really have to see the database to tell you how they currently manage that. You can create hidden buttons on menus that can be "pushed" with an alt-key combination. That's probably what they did.

The bigger question, however, is WHY do you need to consolidate them into a single ACCDE file? I use multiple, custom, front-end databases all the time. The sales people often need a different interface than the inventory people. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this kind of a setup.
