2007 Access Database using 2013 version
Karyn Spillman

I have the 2013 version of Access.  A friend has shared a rather large database that was written using 2007 Access.  Should I anticipate running into any glitches because of this?  I understand that doing the reverse (running a 2013 database on the 2007 version) might cause problems but I'm unsure about my situation.

Reply from Rick Rost:

I've never had a problem running a 2007 database in 2013, or even going the other way provided the user didn't include any 2013-specific features in the database. You may have a problem if the database was built with 2007-specific VBA library references or external objects, but those are much more advanced concepts. Generally, if the database loads and works OK after you give it a "once through" then you should be fine.
