Activate Combobox From Another Form
Colin M

I have a vendor form (VendorF) that has a continuous product subform (VendorProductSubF). The form VendorF is fed by table VendorT. There is a Vendor Combobox in the header of VendorF, which selects the vendor name and account # and fills the info fields such as the VendorName and VendorAccountNo.

The subform draws info from the table ProductT.  There is a command button for each product record that takes me to the appropriate product record in ProductF.

The separate product form (ProductF) which lists additional fields about each product, as well as those from the VendorProductSubF.  This ProductF has a combo box in the header to pick the vendor name (VendorName) and account number (VendorAccountNo) in case I go into this form first, instead of with a command button from VendorF. This combo box does a fine job of selecting the vendor and account number.

The problem is that most of the time I don't need to enter additional information in the ProductF form, but would like The VendorName and VendorAccountNo from VendorF to be inserted automatically into those same fields in ProductF. Is there a way to activate the combo box on ProductF from VendorF without going to ProductF?

I have tried a number of things, but no luck.  Can anyone help?  I appreciate any and all assistance.

Reply from Alex Hedley:

I'm not quite following, you want to fill in VendorName and VendorAccountNo into a Form from another Form?

You say can you activate the combo box on ProductF without going to ProductF.

You can refer to controls on other forms using
FORMS!FORMNAME!CONTROLNAME
So you could use that in one form to access or change values in another form but they would both need to be open.
