We have an xlsm exported from a program we can t change. We want to move the xlsm data into our access db we have already built. However, some of the fields exported are formatted as  general  in the exported xlsm.

What routine/process can we use in the process of access importing the xlsm fields, but changing some from general formatting to say, a number format when it s been imported into the access database?

It depends how you are importing it into Access.
You could set the Field in Access to be a Number and if it is in Excel Access is usually clever enough to know it is a number.
Another option is a macro in Excel that converts the columns to the Format you want.
