I have a NEW request form with say 50 fields. (all fields used for a new employee).  However for other requests received, I may only need 20 or 30 of those 50 fields. This form contains a request type drop down box to choose new transfer terminate etc.

Should I just create a specific form for each situation (NewF, TransferF, DeleteF, SuspendF) and use requestT as the source for each one?

Or is there a way to use the Dropbox request field to only show the fields required for that request?  If so is there a lesson I can do to do so

You could use an AfterUpdate event that shows/hides controls on a form
I'd split these fields up into separate tables if you aren't using them all for each record you will have a lot of empty data.
Split them off and relate them with a Foreign Key
