I have a donor database. For every donation received, a thank you letter is to be sent. It is desired that the first paragraph of this letter include donor & donation specific details such as "Amount of Donation", "Method of Payment", "date of donation", etc. I know that this is a relatively pain free thing to do in MS Word, but, in a perfect world, I'd like to have a "Save and Generate Thank You Letter" button on  my donation entry form that will essentially automate the task. This is because people who will routinely be entering donation data do not necessarily have the skills required to run Word mail merges.

I have reviewed a fair amount of video and forum info and have not found an answer to this. I'd love a quick fix but  a point in the right direction would be helpful as well.

You could just build a Report in Access that is laid out like a Letter.
Create a Query to get the data for this Letter based on the current Record from the Form.
You could then have a button on the Form that opens this is Print Preview.
