Is it always better to leave the AutoNumber field in your Forms and Reports (in case you need it)?

There's debate over this. If it exists in the RecordSource of the Form/Report then it can be used in Macros/VBA code. There was a time when it had to be on a Form/Report to be used but I think this goes back to a very old version of Access. You can always add it to the Object but hide it
