Alex, On Error Resume next seems to be totally ignored.

I also tried Error trapping ie-on error goto errline

did nothing too.

So I looked at the event viewer and it was catching the following:

now admittedly this is greek to me. On a hunch, I looked at other machines, there are eerily similar events on Win7/office 2010
win7 office 2013
win7 office 2016

obviously the text was different with regard to access version.

Are you fully updated?
Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing office?
