I am a novice to Access.  I have a database with two tables, one for the patients table, name address, and the other for recording visits table.  I want the visits form to be populated from the patients with their name and address so eliminating having to type the name and address every time.  I would like to use a combo box to select the name I need.  I have set up a form from the visitors table and a combo box and used a macro Me.txtfirstName.Value=Me.CboPat.Column(2)for each field, but it does not work.  Do I need to link the two databases together using an ID and relationship the two?  this is where I lack the knowledge.  Is there a course I could download to follow my problem?

Get the chosen value from the Combo and display it on the next form.

You should have a Foreign Key in your Visits table of PatientID, just set this value to the combo.
You can then use the column Property of the Combo to display the name.
