I have a database for collecting samples. I have a separate table for samples taken and samples received. I created a query so I can subtract one from the other but when I save and close then try to reenter it is asking for any entry date for each. I have not set combo boxes but this is still occurring

Any prompt that comes up asking for a parameter value that you're not expecting is USUALLY because you spelled something wrong. Check that. Also, is there a reason why you used two separate tables for the same KIND of data? I would use one with a "send/received" value (Y/N?) to differentiate between them. That's just an opinion though. If your way works, keep it. If you have to add fields, however, you have to do it to two tables.
