AutoComplete and Timer Issue
Eric Michalek

Auto correct?  An unknown setting was changed recently that is a real pain. In the VBA window, I would normally type msgbox and a space then the quote, the content and the end quote. But now as soon as I type  msgbox  and try to add the space, the cursor backspaces on me. And it fights me over the quotation mark in that it automatically puts both quotes in So I can no longer type without fixing / moving things around.

Probably the same issue, it no longer allows me to use the tab like I used to. For example, I used to be able to type a name of a text box and a period.  As soon as I type the period, I would get a selector that I could up and down arrow and make a selection. Finally, I used to be able to type something like if xxxx = true, as soon as I type the T, true would appear. I could hit tab and it would finish the "rue" for true. This is killing me!!!

I should know how to fix this.

This almost seems to me like the behavior that you get if you're coding in the VBA window and you have a form with a TIMER EVENT running. That will cause weird behavior while you're typing. Shut down any forms like that before editing your code. Let me know if that's it.

Yes  well kind of   So I did have a form with a timer running  and when I closed it  the msgbox issue stopped   That is a huge relief   But   when I type  how can I get the true option after typing t in my example

The timer would definitely cause the weird erratic behavior. As far as the autoCOMPLETE goes, that only pops up when you're inside of known functions or commands, like if you type in DoCmd. then the autocomplete options pop up and show you the options. Something like TRUE isn't going to appear.
