Approval Process

I need a way to  have a way to verify and edit the request before actually adding it to the archived DB. i have two forms a temp form that the user request a project. Then a approval form. what i need to happen is after the temp form is filled out it goes into a status waiting to be approved. Once appreoved on the approval form then the project is sent to the the Capaproject table. i dont know how this can be done can someone give me some ideas.

Well, you would want an IsApproved field to indicate whether it's approved or not (or a StatusID if there are multiple options). When you want to move it over to the different table, click a button and use an Append Query to move it over to another table, and optionally a Delete Query to remove it from the original table, or better yet an Update Query to mark it as moved (I don't like deleting records, better to mark them invalid). DoCmd.OpenQuery or DoCmd.RunSQL will do it.

Yep. Access Expert 13 thru Access Expert 15 covers Action Queries. I see you skipped them. See, the beginner and expert levels have a lot of good stuff in them. I see you have a credit on your account. Do you want me to send them to you with your credit?

OK. I just added them to your account. Enjoy.

I just finished Excel Expert 11. I started that a while ago and I've got a lot of people asking for it. Developer 14 is next up. I've already got a few videos recorded for it, so it should be ready in a couple days.
