I'm sure my question makes it obvious that I am a novice, but...

I'm very interested in Access, and web based databases, in general. I have some very limited experience with PHP/MySQL.

My question is... is Access and ASP fading away, or is it here to stay for the forseeable future? The interest on the forum and your investment in training materials indicates that it is still a major force. Could you clarify this issue for me? What would determine whether one pursued one over the other, or is this even an issue?

My eventual goal is to freelance, creating small-scale custom web databases. What would you advise?

Thanks!
