DateValue

I am trying to find the duplicate from a form. When the agent enter his payment on an specific date, then he enter an authcode that supposed to be unit. We found that is more duplicate of this number in the past with different agents. That is ok but I want the system to ignore if is a different agent and different date. I only want to verify if the payment is duplicate for the same agent, authcode and same date then block. problem with the date is we have on the form format (short date) but behind the system is saving as date and time then when dlookup is searching is saying mismatch on the date because it will never be the same because the time is different all the time. How can I verify that duplicate or what script I can use to extra the time from the date field then compare with the new entry. sound pretty complicated. Thanks

Sounds like you want to check and see if DateTime1 falls on the same date as DateTime2. When you're dealing with dates with TIMES this gets a little more complex. The EASIEST solution is sometimes just to FORMAT them both the same in a field: Format(DateTime1,"mm/dd/yy") and then compare those as text strings. The BETTER way to handle it is to use the actual DateTime functions I cover in Access Expert 28. The DateValue function, for example, will give you JUST the date part.
