Send Emails on Specific Dates

A Very Good Afternoon Richard,

I am nearing the end of my SQL Seminar and getting great stuff from all of the methods. This Access sure is a bottomless pit! Im in a bit of a quandary now as to my next project, I have a database which records Mandatory Learning dates of work colleagues, the courses have to be re-taken every one, two or three years and so on. This is screaming out for a reminder e-mail (say thirty days before a person is out of compliance and when the date has expired  these dates colour amber [30days] and red [when out of compliance] using an If Statement) to the individual and their line manager. Would your e-mail seminar cover triggering said e-mails based on a date?

I also fancy your SharePoint Seminar and Asset Seminars.

The DateTime Seminar covers popups and reminders, check the outline for more info.

Thank you for the guidance Alex. However, I am thinking that when a user enters the database [the programme could remain unopened for a period of time] an e-mail could be triggered to go to anyone of some fifty employees to notify the learning is becoming due to be re-takem and the same reminder to their line manager. The DateTime Seminar does not appear to do this?

The Email Seminar will cover that side of notifications, the DT one is more for working out when youd need to, its prob a combination of some of each.

I do show you how to set up a custom mail server so you can queue up as many emails to go out as you want. You can set up thousands of customized emails and then they'll go out one at a time.

It wouldn't be very hard at all to simply add a "send on date" field to the email server table, and then simply wait until that date has passed before sending that email. Literally one field and another IF check. If you go through the whole seminar and can't figure out how to do that, let me know and I will record a custom addendum video on how to do it.
