I do this all the time. I create a SettingT to store global settings for the database. Things like the company's return address, sales tax rate for the location, name of the office, admin password, etc. Assuming you don't give everyone access to the TABLE in the Navigation Pane (which you shouldn't) then just create a single form bound to that table. Turn off navigation buttons and record selectors. Set Allow Additions and Allow Deletions to NO. That should prevent new records and them deleting your existing record.
