1st of all I realise I'm not at that point yet where this could be done I am wondering is it possible to automate when you type a description a job number in 2 fields for it to fill in linked fields on another form it's linked of course using the auto number you are the person to talk to as you are the expert in Microsoft access so that's why we always ask you in the forum

I was thinking it may be able to be done with a macro when I get to that point this would save me typing the same thing in 2 different places in the database, because of the numbers being auto numbers generated would it be able to copy the number over from one table which is automatically generated with an auto number into a field which has its own auto number but a field for the job number more information back can be given if required it's in the database that you have at the moment Richard
