Naming Conventions

HI, sorry for all the questions! Years ago a programmer that does bank security programming i met on line gave me some pointers when i first started trying to figure out access...
In any event, one of his suggestions was to name my controls on a form:
TxtControlName
CboControlName
LstControlName
ChkControlName
OptControlName
and so on...
ControlName being what ever the control was...
My question is this method good programing? By doing this
Will this come into play down the road or is it a waste of time as it is time consuming. Is there a benefit to it?
Thanks

There are lots of different programming style conventions. That's one of them. I have my own. The important thing is to remain consistent. If you work in teams, you all should use the same conventions.

I added this to the Glossary a while back.
I moved to the Leszynski naming convention but as Rich says just stay consistent.
If you're working in a team agree on something and it'll make it easier to follow.
