Hi Richard. Tom over in Canandaigua. Can you point me to a level or set of videos that discuss things like locking forms, and how you might roll out a database to two or three volunteers in a non-profit (for data entry for example). Perhaps a dumb question... but are there multi-user licenses for access? Happy to pay to learn... just wondering if you cover this and where I can start. thanks.

Hi Thomas. You want to secure your database by creating an ACCDE file. Then you can distribute it to other people without them getting into your code. If they don't need to design the database, they can install the free Access Runtime.

Hello Thomas, I'd suggest the Access Security Seminar as well if you want to control what different users can do with forms. There's a LOT to learn in it, i gained a lot from it. ACCDEs are covered in it as well.

Thanks, guys.... I have a lot to learn but it also really helps to have an overview of the big picture, like the runtime distribution. I will check out these sources. Appreciate the responses. Regards. TW
