Hi Rick thank for all you guidance, I need you help on this. I make an evaluation form and I create two tables relation the Check list and the customer list. I put the relation on Member ID. When I enter the member ID on the check list the name is populated automatically. This is fine the problem is that the Member ID does not exist I enter the Member ID and the Name and other fields. When I finish the Member ID change automatically to 0. When I checked all tables all new information were entered how ever the member Id appear with 0 what I do wrong? I want the member number reside as well.

The parent record has to exist before you can add child records. For example, if you're dealing with Customers and Orders, you have to have a Customer in the Customer Table before you can add an Order for him. Sounds like this is your problem. You have to close the child form and go back to the parent form, add the parent record, and then go back to the child form. The only way around this is with some VBA programming.
