Jeremy Erickson

I've tried everything but I can't figure out how to fix my email button.  The database is in a trusted location, privacy settings are all on, I followed the steps to a T...the command button is ready to go...but I can't figure out how to get passed this step?

Its been a while since I did the course, can you remind me, does this button have conditions on it?
Have you tried deleting it and adding it again?
Do other buttons work?

Does it work in the Student Database?

Are you just trying to send an text Email or send a Report with an Email?
Are you using SMTP or Outlook?

I use iCloud and I also have Outlook.com (non-licensed version).  The objective in Expert 5 Module 4 is to print a report using the EmailDatabaseObject command.  But the email icon in Access is grayed out.

Do you not have Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer?

You really need to take the " Email Seminar " This will show you everything that you would ever need to know
about sending emails with Access. I have been using it for years and still use it.

This class is 8 years old already. Wow. I know that MS has changed some of the way the security works between other apps and Outlook. I'll have to run through the lesson again to see what the deal is. Full disclaimer: I don't use Outlook myself. I use Gmail. I only included this back then because at the time (in 2013) it was relatively easy to integrate Outlook with Access. Since then I'm pretty sure they've mucked stuff up.

In my custom Apps I have it setup for the end user to either use " Outlook, Thunderbird, or SMTP ".
my apps will send email with all 3. And just be sure to use Late Binding with Outlook.
Your " Email Seminar " has taught me so much about sending email thru Access.
