adding machine

On an old school adding machine, one thing that was nice was if I wanted to type $28.14, I'd hit 2814.  With Excel and Access, I have to hit 28.14.  Is there a way to automatically enter the decimal point on the last two digits entered?

Make an after update event on the field and divide it by 100

Fieldname = fieldname/100

Adam is correct. This is actually on the TechHelp list. Someone else asked about this a while ago too. In Excel there is an option to "Automatically insert a decimal point" under Excel Options > Advanced. Access has no such option. I don't like it though because it's a global option and changes the behavior of ALL workbooks. With the AfterUpdate event in Access, you can apply it to just one field at a time in a form.
