AutoNumber Reset
Maurice Loucel

I am sure the answer is somewhere here..
How do I reset the auto number on a database?
I have created so many TEST records that the autonumber is just crazy, I understand is not a big deal since Access takes care of the number no matter what and makes no difference for us as programmers, but it is a matter of principle to me, I want to give my final product starting from 0.
Delete all the garbage I have in all my databases and reset the counter on them to 0 for the AutoNumber field.

Can you guide me towards a solution, or if there is a solution already (I imagine) would you please be so kind to let me know the link?

Maurice.

Sorry, Maurice, but you must be a C/C++ programmer, wanting to start everything from 0. We're VBA programmers here. We start at 1 like normal humans. LOL. Just kidding... but not really... Access starts the first AutoNumber at 1. :)

Hey Richard... Yes I got it.. It was just a form of speech, like saying start from scratch.
And yes it worked, I understand as well that the Auto is Access own thing, but for what I need is a heaven sent, once I import my data from Excel having those numbers perfect from 1 to X on the export will be essential and save so much time for me, after that is done who cares, hence the reason I needed that and believe it or not it worked just like I wanted, no fuss on the import and all the auto numbers generated as charm and duplicate info is now perfectly distinct.

Thanks all.
Maurice.
