How do you restrict a manual enty in a date field and force the user use the date piker only?

Set the Locked Property of your date field to True.

I set the field locked to yes on the property sheet. This stops the user from entering data but I have a date picker for the field. When the field is locked the Date Piker does not work. I want the date picer to work.

I would just use VBA for this, something to set the value of the field that would ignore the locked property. This is where custom date pickers are handy, like Ricks template Here

I'm not sure if you can do much with the built in DatePicker, my previous research says no. There may be some clever trick like hiding a .01 width textbox behind the date field, setting your date field to locked with no date picker, set your date field to set the focus to the small text field to spawn a date picker for it and then having an on change event of that text box change the value of your real text box. I don't think there's a pretty answer.

Oooh... that's a good question. Yes, it's possible. In the KeyPress event, put:

KeyAscii = 0

This forces the keystroke to be ignored BUT you can still use the picker box. You can't Lock or Disable the box, otherwise you can't change the value at all. This method just prevents data entry with the keyboard.
