missing the black square

I have got a problem.
When I go to my forms and click on properties I get not the view with the black square in the upper left corner.
Can someone please tell me what I have done wrong?
What can I do to solve this problem?

One of them is a Form The other is a Table

Just to add to what Alex said:

If you are in design mode of the TABLE - the properties for the fields show up in the lower portion of the window. They change based on the field you are on.

When you are in design mode for a FORM the properties show up in a different window that can be closed. There are multiple ways of opening the property sheet if it is closed. From the Menu Bar on the Design Tab, double click the black box in the upper left corner, OR right click the form and choose properties.
