Chapter Times
Carol Herriot

I watch a video several times before I finally "get" everything.  Sometimes however, I just want to re-watch parts of the video and not the whole thing.

I find myself fast forwarding, rewinding, and generally jumping around trying to find what I am looking for.

It would be REALLY helpful if the videos had time stamps for new topics.  For example:

OPEN OTHER PROGRAMS
Lesson 1:
Set up Customer Table (0:39)
Set up Default File Location (2:55)
Set up Customer Form (4:25)
Add an Image Box (5:25)
Setup Attachment Table (6:59)
Create Attachment SubForm (12:33)
Put Attachment SubForm inside Customer Form (15:28)

Did I mention it would be R-E-A-L-L-Y helpful? :)

I've actually been working on a POC to make this possible.
The issue is time for someone to go through all the courses and mark the specific moments and getting them into the new system

(I think YouTube has a feature that makes this quite easy, but not all videos are on there)

This was also why MyPath has started to be developed.

Thanks for the suggestion, Carol. And yes, you're right. Those time indices would be very helpful for the students, especially on going back to find something. YouTube has something called Chapters where you can set that up:

0:00 Introduction
5:25 Topic 1
12:23 Topic 2
and so on.

Like Alex said, it's really just a matter of taking the time to go through all of my THOUSANDS of videos to set that up. I try to provide an outline of all of the topics that are covered in each course, but breaking it down even further into exact time stamps would double the amount of time it takes for me to produce a lesson. And I'm behind schedule on so many things as it is.

As soon as they add another 2 or 3 hours to each day, I would love to be able to do things like this. I've got so many ideas for so many other projects too... like MyPath. One of these days...
