Calculating Age
Eddy Geijselaers

Hi Rick,

I am trying to build a form in Access which should show age in years, month and days plus a field with a running clock for the hours, minutes and seconds.
The clock is not a problem so far.
calculating the age is.
Older peoples age is: 1943 gives an age of -22.
1920 gives age 1 !!
Must be an date/time option in either access or windows 10 which I could not find yet

Is it possible to make a digital clock run backwards (on the same form as a normal running clock?

I like to see age and time (yy,mm,dd) and time running back till date of retirement.

Thanks

You must be calculating age wrong. I have a function in the Code Vault called HowLong which will return values like "25 years, 3 months, 5 days." Just couple that with the timer on a 1 second delay, and there you go.

I calculate the age in a query with your Datediff - Dateserial combination and all the other ages coming out correctly.

For the timer I use just the time (Date()+1 - date() formatted in time hr, min and sec. witch works fine for countup timer.
Counting down on the same forms (til date retirement) does not work (yet). Probably I have to use a separate form.

Thanks
