I seem to have reached a paradox. Having followed your instructions in your Security Seminar/26 and 307/5 courses, which deal with splitting the database. When I load the frontend, the program starts, I put in the name and password and everything runs fine.  I can run the backend with no problems as well.
Now when I password the backend, and then try to load the frontend, it ask for its password, after entering it, I get the following message Microsoft Visual Basic - Run-time error’3031’: Not a valid password.
What I think is happening is the frontend is trying to reach the tables in the backend, but can’t because it does not have access to the password that is stored in the backend.
I have updated the Global Modal to reflect the location of the backend as follows: D:\Lotus\works\approach\MRC_be.accdb. The MRC.accdb is in this location also. (Yes a carryover from my Lotus days.)
Another problem I’m having is when I copy the two working files to a flash drive or burn a disk, they won’t run from either of those locations.  It starts up, but nothing happens after entering the name and password. When clicking on the Login or Exit buttons it does nothing. Clicking on the X returns you to the desktop.
To my fellow students take Richards’s advice, Backup, Backup and Backup again. If you don’t at some point or time you will regret it. As I have learned.
