Missing a LOT of information here. What are you trying to search for? What are you trying to do with the search results afterwards? Normally I would say just make separate forms but hard to say without more information.

I think he's asking if you can search on the same form that you're doing data entry in. Sure, you COULD... but I've found you're almost always better off with a separate search form - if you're looking for data in a number of different fields.
