Many-to-many relation
Maxime Trottier

Hi,

I've build a many to many relationship using two one to many relation. The table name are Parts and Supplier and the link table is Link. (Parts -> Link <- Supplier)

But now i wonder how to add data to part and supplier tables and be sure that it will be in my Link table, so that my data integrity is respected!

Thanks, and sorry for my bad english it's a second language.

Answer from Richard Rost:

I like to create MASTER/SUBFORMS for any relationships like this. You can make the master table for Parts and the subtable for Suppliers, or vice versa (or even make both) and this way you can make sure whenever you add a new Part that you pick Suppliers for it. You can also run a FIND UNMATCHED query to find any Parts that don't have Suppliers (or vice versa).
