How do I create 5-digit customized "AUTO NUMBER" that will populate into ID field for every NEW record.  This Auto Number needs to start with 10000.

I read the post for the same question in 2007.  But unable to understand and perform solution.  My experience with Access is as an Intermediate user (no VBA programming).  I have created all tables, etc...

Whenever someone asks me to create a custom counter, I have to ask them WHY they need it. Remember, counters and Autonumbers are INTERNAL pieces of data that YOU shouldn't need to care about. Access uses them to track relationships between tables.
