Composite Keys

I am in the process of entering all of the classrooms into my database. When I set up my tables, I had the Room Number field set to Indexed, no duplicates. Unfortunately, I have discovered that is possible for multiple buildings to have multiple numbers (ie: A Building 101 & B Building 101). So, I changed my table to allow for duplicates.

However, I want to be sure that I don't use the same room number twice in the same building. Is it possible to control this?

Beau what you are are looking for is called a Composite Key. That way you can have A101 and B101 but not 2 - A101 In this Microsoft Access video tutorial, you will learn how to create composite keys, which are table keys based on multiple fields: Composite Keys
