finding lastname using Id

I hope I am not confusing in explaining this. I import a statement from a hearing aid manufacturers website and have set it up just like Richards video. I call it InvoiceT. It works great as i can update it weekly. Thank you Richard.

I do have to physically put the Patient ID in the table as it is an Autonumber and am not able to use update as some of the names are spelled incorrectly. This i dont mind doing as it is just a few invoices weekly. So my InvoiceT has InvoiceID as autonumber and PatientID as the foreign key.

The problem is when my staff goes to search the invoice for a patient, they are not able to search using first or last name as these names are directly imported from the excel sheet. They can search using the PatientID. But the problem is that they have to go to patient form, get the Id and then use it in the invoice query.

Is there a VBA code or something that I can use in the InvoiceF where they search by Lastname and the results displays the results looking up the Patient ID?

FYI : We search by using Control F

Any advice will help

Yes, this just sounds like a simple DLookup from a different table.
