This should be an easy answer or maybe not....

I have a DB that is for products being made from items

I have a subform (Form1) with the items that makeup the product. On the subform I have [ITEM], [QUANTITY], [ITEMCOST] (which is =[QUANTITY]*[COST]. In the form footer I have a text box with =SUM(ITEMCOST) and named it [TotalCost]. The sub form work great.

In the main form (Form2) I have the product ID [PRODID], what the product sells for [PRODSELL], and the factory where its made [FACTORY]. I want to show the product cost from the subform so I added a textbox and put in it =[Forms]![Form1]![TotalCost].

Add I get is a #NAME? error. any ideas? If you need more info let me know

Oh I meant to add that I also tried =[Form1].Form![TotalCost] and still got the same error. Jerry

You need to use a different syntax when referring to a subform. See this Value From a Form
