What is the vb code so that when a variable i have meets a certain criteria a msgbox pops up when you open the database i need to do this for multiple variables

Alex, this is not just a simple one line of code. First, you'd need to create a startup form (which every good database will have).

Now, in the OnOpen event for that form, you'll have to check your variable. What kind of variable is it? Is it something you calculate, or is it a value from a table?

If it's from a table, you'll have to look up your value somehow. It can either be a bound field in the form, or you could use a statement like DLOOKUP to pull it from a table. Then you could check the value and pop up your msgbox.

Here is a tutorial for using DLOOKUP. This will hopefully get you started. If not, I'll need to know a lot more about exactly what you're trying to do… with specifics.

You can use the DLOOKUP function to look up a specific value from a table or query.
