Richard, just a question about your solution to this problem.  If the user moves to a new record, and then moves back to the previous record, won't the OnCurrent event fire and re-enable the 3 fields, so that then the user could put data into another of the fields?  What about checking in BeforeUpdate that the other two fields are null, or not allowing the user to enter the data if one of the other two has data?  Don't know about YOUR users, buy mine will do just about anything they can to screw up my databases.

I guess it all depends on how your database is set up and how you want it to work. If you want the user to HAVE to put something in Combo1 before they can use Combo2 and Combo3, then you could use the OnCurrent event (when the form loads) to DISABLE 2 and 3, and ENABLE just 1. Then in the AfterUpdate for 1, enable 2, and so on. This is really more of a usability question than a technical question. You have to decide how you want your database to function.
