VBA Error on start up
Joseph Mazzeo

I opened my database yesterday and the following error message appeared:

It is not possible to open the database because the VBA project contained in it can not be read. The database can only be opened if the VBA project is deleted first. Deleting the VBA project removes all the code from the modules, forms, and reports. You must back up the database before attempting to open the database and delete the VBA project.

To back up, click Cancel, and then create a backup of your database. To open the database and delete the VBA project without backing up, click OK

Backing up the existing DB did nothing to remove the error and the bottom line is the database is dead. Any ideas on what causes this and how to fix it?

Save a copy of your db. off of your computer.  It's possible you got corrupted somehow.

Start out here:    Troubleshooter

I've never encountered this one before. Compact & Repair and then, like Scott said, Troubleshooter.
