Hi Richard and the guys, I finally got my forms to where I can auto insert the name and ID following your scurity seminar. I had to create 3 new tables queries and forms but I got it. Now I cannot remember the video I was watching when you were showing how to clear a form by using a button and add new record. Now the problem I have is after clearing the form all fields go blank to insert new data. How do I keep the Name and ID from clearing so that all the other fields should clear to insert new data.

If you're talking about the userid/username from the security seminar, it's best to put those fields on something that is going to remain open, like the main menu, otherwise you need to use tempvars or other tricks (like setting a parameter value before new record and then putting it back)

Hi Thanks Adam I see what you are saying. when people save the record and it clears then it can clear the fields but also it can insert the name and ID again.

I believe in the Security Seminar I used a global variable to store who was logged on at the time.
