Is there a way to link to a excel spread sheet and bring in a value from one cell in a workbook that has multiple spreadsheets in it? Maybe Vlookup? Im not great with Excel colleage would like to know if this is possible to bring data that gets updated in an excel file that we can bring into my database so that the data doesn't have to be entered twice.

You literally just want to read in one cell? Is it the same cell all the time, like A5?

I'm sure it's possible to GET that value, but you can't link to it in a traditional sense. You would need some automation. I'll put something together for you.

This is perfect... I have another question from a member asking how to link to Excel, so I'll combine them. Your question will be in the extended cut. Look for it later today.

Sweet. Glad you like it. I have a LOT more coming with Automation in the Developer lessons... controlling Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Sounds great the more that can be automated preventing users having to enter data twice will allow for data to be more accurate and they wont complain about having to enter data multiple times as well.
