Setting query criteria

I'm an intermediate using Access2003. Im working on a database for work that I want to identify absences and tardies within a criteria by date. An employee is written up if they have 3 in 30 days, 4 in 90 days, or 7 in 180 days. The data is Name, Payroll code, and date. I would like to be able to run something every pay period to identify those that need to be written up. Hope this is clear and to the point for you.

You could use the DCOUNT function in a query to add up the number of days they were late in the past X days. Something like:

DaysLate30: DCOUNT("*","MyTable","Absent=TRUE")

Something along those lines. Without knowing a lot more about how your data is set up, I really can't give you any more specific details.

DCOUNT is a close cousin of DLOOKUP. Here's a tutorial on how that function works. Perhaps this will help you:
