COUNT Function
Gary Smith

Hi,

I have an Invoice table with Invoice detail table.
Ive created a top 10 client list query and Im trying to count the number of Invoice ID's per client in a query with this expression:

ClientNoJobs: Count(([InvoiceT.InvoiceID]))

However, it returns the answer of all the Invoice Detail ID's instead?

THanks
Gary

PS it would be handy to paste screenshots or images here !

You just want a count of a certain clients invoice IDs?

You are probably going to need to use your Top10 Query in a second query.  Then bring in your Invoices table and link the two tables by ClientID.

From there you can turn it into and Aggregate query.  Those are covered in Access Expert Level 11 .

See the free Aggregate Query video as well.  That will give you a start.

Many thanks for all the replys, I got it working using this formula in a textbox =DCount("*","InvoiceT","ClientID=" & [ClientID])
